German Noun Gender Test

Your browser can not run the Java applet that is supposed to appear here!

This applet contains 287 German nouns.

In "learning mode" the applet picks questions at random. It takes note of questions you get wrong and it will ask these questions again soon after to help reinforce learning.

In "test mode" the applet asks each question once. A score is given at the end of the test.

The answers to questions you get wrong are displayed in the Java console window: You may wish to review this list when you finish using the applet.

You can type 'r' for masculine words, 'e' for feminine words and 's' for neuter words (but you may have to first use the mouse to click on one of the applet's buttons to make sure the applet has input focus). You can also type '1', '2', and '3' for masculine, feminine, and neuter words, respectively.

Pressing the Escape key while doing a test will exit the test and return to the main menu.
